Fundraiser for the Ukraine

On 13th November 2022, Wirral Unitarians held a concert to raise funds for those suffering in Ukraine.

West Kirby Baroque played trio sonatas by Quantz and Loeillet, bass-baritone John Turner sang songs stretching from the 17th to the 20th century and our own minister Rev Phil Waldron, singing with acoustic guitar, entertained the Heswall audience with songs from Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel and British rock band, James. Variety was the name of the game!

Organiser Richard Merritt explained “this was our 47th Charity Classics Sunday afternoon concert. Together these Wirral Unitarian concerts have raised well over £10,000 for local and wider good causes. On this occasion we were delighted to raise over £325 for the Red Cross’s Ukraine crisis Appeal.”

Wirral Unitarians hold their next Charity Classic concert at 3.30 pm on Sunday 23rd April 2023. The programmes is yet to be agreed but now’s the chance to get the date in your diaries!
